There are many different ways to help us meet our fundraising goals each year. We are grateful for every single donation received!
Join the Butterfly Club
Our annual operating budget is partially covered by government funding (about 50%) and we rely on contributions from our community for the rest. By becoming a monthly donor, you can “join the club” and help to ensure our sustainability!
You can either make a monthly donation online (credit card), or use our Butterfly Club Pledge Form to arrange payment via credit card, cheque, or direct deposit.

Stock Transfers
A donation of securities or mutual fund shares is the most efficient way to give charitably. With a donation of securities or mutual funds, capital gains tax does not apply, allowing you to give more and avoid paying capital gains taxes. – If you wish to donate publicly traded shares to Mariposa House Hospice, please complete the following document, and return to your personal broker who should process the request and forward it on to John Mayo at BMO Nesbitt Burns Orillia.
Sponsor an item on our Wish List
For our opening, we have many items that are needed to make the hospice house feel like a home. We are accepting donations for our “Housewarming Wish List” and will also need items throughout the year. You can direct your donation to our “Wish List” on our donation page
Create your own fundraiser!
If you would like to host your own fundraiser to support Mariposa House Hospice, please reach out to discuss your idea! We ask that anyone hosting a “third party fundraiser” complete a form outlining their plans and what may be needed from the hospice. Please Contact Us for more information!
Volunteer
Mariposa House Hospice relies on volunteers to thrive. The two main categories of volunteer roles are “direct service ” and “organizational support”. House roles include reception, kitchen, and resident/family support. Organizational support roles include fundraising and events, gardening, and Board of Directors. The training requirements differ depending on the role you sign up for. Learn more about volunteer opportunities
Support Our Events
Mariposa House Hospice benefits from several fundraising events each year including a Fashion Show, Hike for Hospice, Golf Tournament, and Angel Tree. In addition, we plan to offer various educational events throughout the year. Stay up to date on our events calendar.
