OUR STORY

THE BUILDING OF MARIPOSA

Mariposa House Hospice incorporated in 2016.  Three years and $3.5 million dollars later, we broke ground on Aug 29, 2019  to begin building a 5-bed hospice residence dedicated to serving the communities of Orillia, Severn, Oro-Medonte, Ramara, and Chippewas of Rama First Nation.

We offer several comforts and amenities in a homelike facility situated on a beautiful 2.4 acre lot in Severn Township, surrounded by nature. Our building is in an ideal location with room to grow.

Mariposa House Hospice has proudly partnered with Cool Earth architects, specializing in low carbon structures, Van Horne Construction, and the project management team at Ingersoll and Associates to bring this residential hospice to fruition.

We are grateful for capital contributions from Ontario’s Ministry of Health and the County of Simcoe, our surrounding municipalities and townships, and many individuals, families and businesses from our community.
